Getting Ready
You are about to go on a life changing mission! We are so excited that you have chosen to partner with us and are committed to helping you prepare so you can serve at maximum capacity! There are a few important things to keep in mind:
-
Most of your trip information can be found on your Welcome email.
-
Plan carefully so that all payments toward the cost of your trip are made on time. If you are raising funds from donors, make sure to watch for deadlines.
-
Any questions about your trip can be answered via email. Reach out to Miranda at hopemedicalmissioninc@gmail.com
What to Expect

-
Our primary goal is taking care of men, women and children in need of quality healthcare and education. The days may be long, as to accommodate as many patients as possible while on our trip.
-
Due to the limited resources available on site and available to carry with us, creative solutions may be required to help better care for the people!
-
Experience new things:
- We will be exposed to new culture, customs, foods, and languages!
- Accommodations will likely be different from the comforts we know at home.
- The opportunity to experience new environments and scenery, which can be vastly different from home!
- The climate and weather on location may vary significantly. We recommend preparation by bringing a variety of clothing to prepare for different circumstances. But remember, there is limited space for personal items on these trips!
- There may be new types of work and tasks available to learn. If you are interested, we will be happy to guide you in these new experiences!
-
Team work:
- Without each other, the mission would not be a success. Each member is vital in accomplishing our goals! We will have the opportunity to learn and grow from each other’s experience. And hopefully create new friendships!
-
May God bless:
- We are thankful to have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others!
- We are thankful for you, who choose to give your time, to donate, and to get involved in our mission.
- This will be a life-changing experience, we are glad that you have joined us in this journey.
Immunizations
Hope Medical Foundation does not require you to receive specific immunizations. However, we highly recommend being up to date on all vaccinations and to seek out further country-specific immunization advice from the Center for Disease Control. See CDC website here: Travelers' Health | CDC
Additionally, you may contact your local health department to connect you with nearby travel physicians and clinics. Costs are typically out-of-pocket, however, these physicians and clinics specialize in travel medicine and will be able to guide you on recommended vaccines and disease prevention strategies.
Airport Pointers
-
Arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight. Depending on the airport, your group size, the travel weekend, and other factors that could cause delays, you should use best judgment to arrive even earlier.
-
Carefully check the luggage policy of the airline you are flying with to confirm how many checked baggage policies, carry-on restrictions, and other information specific to your booking.
-
The team will plan to meet at the airport before departing for the mission destination.
-
If we experience any delays, we will communicate with you via a group text for any updates and instructions.
